Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook – New Sections Now Available
We are pleased to announce that the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) Licensing Division has released the first two sections of the Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook!
The Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook is designed to support early learning programs and licensors with successful implementation of licensing standards. It contains information that will help early learning professionals understand the reasoning behind key licensing standards, provide data, resources, examples of compliance and early learning provider testimonials.
Along with a brief introduction, the two sections included in this first phase are:
- Child Outcomes
- Family Engagement and Partnerships
You can find the Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook on the Become a Licensed Child Care & Early Learning Provider page of the DCYF website as well as the DCYF Publications Library.
The new Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook replaces the former Family Home Child Care Licensing Guide and Child Care Center Licensing Guidebook. It is another DCYF resource to support child care and early learning programs with understanding the Foundational Quality Standards (Chapter 110-300 WAC) that went into effect on Aug. 1, 2019.
As illustrated in the diagram below, the Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook will continue to be rolled out in phases throughout 2020. DCYF will notify child care and early learning programs through GovDelivery emails, on our website and social media as each phase is released.

Guía de Licencias de Cuidado Infantil y Aprendizaje Temprano (Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook) - Nuevas secciones disponibles
Nos complace anunciar que la División de Licencias del Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF), ¡ha publicado las primeras dos secciones de la Guía de Licencias de Cuidado Infantil y Aprendizaje Temprano (Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook)!
La Guía de Licencias de Cuidado Infantil y Aprendizaje Temprano (Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook) está diseñada para apoyar los programas de aprendizaje temprano y licenciatarios con la implementación exitosa de estándares de licenciamiento. Esta contiene información que ayudará a los profesionales del aprendizaje temprano a entender el razonamiento detrás de las normas clave de licenciamiento, proporcionar datos, recursos, ejemplos de cumplimiento y testimonios de proveedores de aprendizaje temprano.
Además de una breve introducción, las dos secciones incluidas en esta primera fase son:

La nueva Guía de Licencias de Cuidado Infantil y Aprendizaje Temprano (Child Care and Early Learning Licensing Guidebook) reemplaza a la Guía de Licencias de Cuidado Infantil en Hogares Familiares anterior y la Guía de Licencias de Centros de Cuidado Infantil. Es otro recurso del DCYF para apoyar el cuidado infantil y los programas de aprendizaje temprano con conocimiento de los Estándares de Calidad Fundamentales (Capítulo 110-300 del Código Administrativo de Washington [Washington Administrative Code, WAC]) que entraron en vigor el 1.° de agosto de 2019.
