ECEAP (pronounced "E-Cap") is Washington's state-funded Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program for children ages 3 and 4. ECEAP is free to all eligible families.
What does ECEAP include?
- PreK education
- Family Support and Engagement
- Health, Mental Health, and Nutrition
ECEAP classes are between 2.5 and 10 hours a day, four or five days a week. Contact your local provider to learn what is available in your community.
Benefits of ECEAP participation:
- Social emotional skills such as managing feelings and getting along with others.
- Foundational skills for reading, math, and science.
- ECEAP partners with parents to support children's health and education and to meet family goals.

Eligibility
- Children must be 3 or 4 years old and:
- Meet criteria* that may include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Income criteria
- Are from a family earning up to 36% state median income (State Median Income Chart); or
- Are from a Tribal family earning up to 100% state median income (State Median Income Chart); or
- Qualify for school district special education services
- Are experiencing homelessness
- Have participated in ESIT, ECLIPSE, Head Start, or Early ECEAP
- Have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Have qualifying factors including:
- Involvement in state or Tribal welfare services
- Chronic physical or mental health conditions
- Income criteria

- Visit the ECEAP Dashboard and click on the Site Contact Information tab to find your local provider.
- After eligibility is determined, children are prioritized for enrollment as space is available in their local community.
