Nicole Rose is the Assistant Secretary of Early Learning. Before this, she was an Assistant Director at the Department of Early Learning.

She helped lead programs like ECEAP, Early Achievers, professional development, and child care subsidy.

Nicole joined the Department of Early Learning in 2010. Earlier in her career, she was the PreK–3rd/ECEAP Administrator. In that job, she helped grow ECEAP and start the first full school-day and extended-day programs.

She grew up in Spokane, Washington, and has worked in many early learning programs, including ECEAP and Head Start.

Nicole cares about using good ideas to make better policies. She wants all children and families in Washington to have the support they need to succeed.

She has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy and Governance.
