Contracts
DCYF works with all 29 federally recognized Tribes in Washington State through contracts. These contracts help Tribes provide Indian Child Welfare (ICW) and Independent Living (IL) services to their members.
Tribes with contracts must submit reports to DCYF. These reports show how funds are used and describe the services provided.

Consultation Policy
This policy explains how DCYF works with federally recognized Tribes through a government-to-government relationship. It describes the steps DCYF follows when consulting with Tribal governments on policies and service programs.
The policy supports Tribal participation in decision-making and follows:
