Out of Home Care

The Family First Prevention Services Act requires each state to meet national standards to improve licensing standards for foster family homes. The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) licensing standards are consistent with the federal model standards; however there are some slight deviations that Washington is currently working to align with these standards. Out of Home Care is also focused on other ways to enhance support under Title IV-B such as the kinship navigator program and the improving interstate placements.
