The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), in partnership with Service Employees Internation Union (SEIU) 925, hosted a series of webinars for Licensed Family Home Providers regarding waived copayments for July, August, and September 2021 as well as monthly unit authorizations. New Child Care Subsidy Billing and Payment Guides Available Online

The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) has updated its Child Care Subsidy Billing and Payment Guides for all licensed providers: centers, family home, and family, friends, and neighbors (FFN). The guides are available online in English, Spanish, and Somali.

Full-Time Student WCCC Eligibility

July 1, 2021

The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is pleased to share that starting July 1, 2021, parents attending full-time community, technical, or tribal college are no longer required to work to qualify for Working Connections Child Care (WCCC). Student parents enrolled full-time may be eligible for WCCC when participating in the following:

Family Subsidy Copayments Waived for July, August, and September 2021

Dear Child Care Provider,

The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is waiving child care copayments for families accessing subsidies for July, August, and September 2021. Notifications are being sent to families via postcard informing them of the waived copayments and that their copayments will begin again on Oct. 1, 2021.

Thank you for your continued support of children and their families.

Providers Must Update Rates with DCYF by July 17, 2021

The Fair Start for Kids Act, signed by Gov. Inslee on May 7, increases subsidy base payment rates. The new subsidy rates take effect July 1, 2021, and can be found online at Working Connections Child Care.

Authorization Changes for Licensed Family Homes Beginning 7/1/2021

Monthly Units

Beginning July 1, 2021, all base rate payments for licensed family homes will be authorized as a monthly unit. Providers can claim the monthly unit if the child was in care during any day covered by the authorization. If the authorization is for less than the full month, the system will automatically adjust for the days authorized in the month. Families must request changes to the authorized monthly units.
