MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™ brings foster and kinship families together in small groups called Constellations. A Constellation is a group of foster and Kinship families who support youth in foster care. At the center of each Constellation is a skilled foster family known as the Hub home. This family plans gatherings once a month to bring families and youth together to get to know one another. The Hub home also provides respite (short-term care) for children, youth and families when they need a break.
Youth do best when they grow up in caring communities!

History of MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™
MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™ first began in 2004 in Seattle, Washington. The goal was to build connections for young people in their community and build support for foster and kinship families. They saw that families do better when they have help from others.
Today, this program has grown across the state in New York, California, Kentucky and Oklahoma. It has also grown in Nova Scotia, the United Kingdom, Japan, the Netherlands, and Australia. To learn more about The Mockingbird Society check out their website.
