At DCYF, we believe that parents are their children’s first and most important teachers. The Parent Advisory Group (PAG) helps share ideas, give feedback, and ask questions that guide the work of DCYF.
When parents help make decisions, we create better policies and programs that support the needs of families. PAG is made up of 20 to 25 parents and caregivers of children from before birth through age 25. The group meets online and in-person when funding allows.
PAG members come from many different family backgrounds including:
- Families from rural and urban, or military communities.
- Families who use early learning services.
- Families who do not use receive any services.
- Families with different structures, such as single parents, relative care, foster parents, or blended families.

- Families from different cultural, language, and ethnic backgrounds.
